Managed Warehouse (WMS Osiris)

Warehouse is an important part of the modern supplier chain. Efficient warehouse operation is conditioned by deployment of a suitable information system to manage warehouse operation (Warehouse Management System, WMS) in combination with other logistic technologies (storage, handling, identification) chosen with regard to the material flows type and the course of related business processes.

Features & Benefits

  • Increased passableness of the warehouse, achievement of higher utilization of storage capacity, improved organization of warehouse processes
  • Reduced number of incomplete, erroneous or delayed deliveries
  • Limited influence of the human factor and its mistakes on the warehouse activities and performance
  • Obtaining of topical and accurate data on the warehouse condition and movements and on the degree of elaboration rate of warehouse operations
  • Reduced number of physical inventories
  • Observing required strategies of putting items to the warehouse and taking them out
  • Efficient management of the purchase order preparation and assembly process with regard to planned shipping dates
  • Easy and fast traceability of goods movements

WMS OSIRIS is a product of ICZ designed for warehouse operation management in all types and members of logistic chains. Thanks to its open nature, independence on the database environment as well as the superior enterprise information system, it is a suitable solution for the majority of companies with a significant portion of logistic activities (storage and distribution centres, logistic premises, wholesales, manufacturing plants with complex material flows etc.). Full utilization of the client/server architecture characteristics and of the characteristics of all modern integration standards allows to operate this system independently or as a part of a broader information environment.

Advanced Warehouse Processes Management

The core of WMS OSIRIS consists in detailed records of the condition and movements of the warehouse and management of all processes occurring within the warehouse. The system supports all common warehouse types (purchase, interoperational, dispatching, distribution, customs etc.) and common strategies of putting items to the warehouse and taking them out (FIFO, FEFO, LIFO), adapted for the storage and handling technology used (in-line as well as entrance pallet racks, shelf racks, pallet and crate stacker systems, continuous lifts etc.).

Basic functions of the system allow for the following:

  • Observe the condition and movement of goods in real time in the required degree of detail (including, for example, the expiration date, serial number, batch number and other attributes needed) and its placement within warehouse handling units and locations
  • Manage warehouse operations (receipt, issue, replacement, dispatching) by means of creating handling plans and their confirming
  • Keep records of returnables
  • Evaluate services related to operation of the warehouse in the case that they are provided on the commercial basis (storage, handling, assembly, packaging etc.).

An Intelligent, Flexible and Efficient Warehouse

Modularity and the open nature of WMS OSIRIS allow for adapting its functionality to the customer’s requirements as well as to the continuously changing operating conditions (stored assortment, warehouse structures, their technical equipment as well as manner of handling). The system supports usage of automatic identification (bar code, RFID) in all warehouse operations and thus facilitates entering of data necessary for management and monitoring of material flows in real time. The system resources allows for direct management of automated warehouse technologies (stackers, continuous lifts, receiving and dispatching lines etc.). The system can cooperate with the majority of common enterprise information systems (ERP) as well as with some other specialized applications (customs administration, dispatching management etc.).
